Unlike other gems, the pearl comes to us perfect and beautiful, direct from the hand of nature.

Deemed especially appropriate as a wedding gift.

The employment of pearls medicinally dates from an ancient period. The pearl cures diseases of the eyes, is an antidote to poisons, cures morbid disturbances, and increases strength and general health.

The use of pearls conduces to contentment of mind and to strength of body and soul.

Becoming a Bird.

Under certain conditions, the living could be transformed into birds.

Some legends involve birds that change into or inhabit the bodies of humans.

Among certain peoples in northern Europe and Asia, the spirits of birds such as eagles, owls, and crows are said to enter the bodies of shamans to inspire them.

In some myths, humans and other beings acquire the ability to fly like birds. Such supernatural flight, like many mythological powers, can be either good or evil.

Norse tales told that the goddess Freya's feather cloak enabled the wearer to fly.

Birds warn of dangers ahead, reveal secrets, and guide heroes and travelers on their way.

Alchemy: An ancient practice focused on the attempt to change base metals into gold, investigating the preparation of the "elixir of longevity", and achieving ultimate wisdom, involving the improvement of the alchemist as well as the making of several substances described as possessing unusual properties.

The best-known goals of the alchemists were the transmutation of common metals into gold (called chrysopoeia) or silver (less well known is plant alchemy, or "spagyric"); the creation of a "panacea", or the elixir of life, a remedy that, it was supposed, would cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely; and the discovery of a universal solvent.

Carl Jung reexamined alchemical symbolism and theory and began to show the inner meaning of alchemical work as a spiritual path.

Here is my working mood board that will inspire my collection at the exhibition.

I developed a color palette out of it:

London born Philip started using his head as a canvas for creativity back in 2006 when he began to go bald. He did not want to conform to shaving his head like everyone else so started using it as an art form to express. Philip’s head designs are now becoming iconic within London’s fashion and art scenes where people strive to be original.

diagnosis story (hero's journey) influenced pieces

My mother was driving and crying at the same time, looking at me from time to time in the passenger seat. Soon I was in a hospital bed, opening up the little palms of my hands to investigate each fingertip covered with a bandage. Then there was this Munchkin, handing me a signed photograph from the cast of The Wizard of Oz.

While these may sound like scenes from an altered state of consciousness, these are my first memories.
